How do you power a dashcam?

A dashcam can be powered either by a cigarette lighter or by a hardwire kit. If using a cigarette lighter, plug it in and it will automatically turn on and start recording. If hardwiring, follow the instructions that came with the camera or seek specialist advice from a local auto centre. If the car has an Auxiliary Power Outlet that turns off when the engine is off, the dashcam will also shut down.
