Our journey with VIOFO began back in 2017, when we picked up one of the brand's earliest models — the legendary A119 V2 — and started showing it off to UK drivers at trade shows and motoring events up and down the country. The reaction was instant. People wanted a dash cam that didn't shout for attention, recorded footage you could actually use, and was backed by people who knew the product inside out.

A short while later, viofouk.co.uk went live — and we've been the UK home of VIOFO ever since.

Today, we operate from our base in Cambridgeshire with a fully stocked UK warehouse. Simple promise we made on day one: every driver should be able to get a brilliant dash cam.

VIOFO was built on a single, stubborn idea: a dash cam should disappear into your car. Not stick to the windscreen like a satnav from 2008. Not run on a battery that swells in summer heat. Not record blurry, washed-out footage that's useless the moment you actually need it.

When VIOFO arrived on the scene in 2010, the dash cam market was a mess of bulky cameras clamped to oversized suction cups, with internal batteries that struggled in extreme temperatures and image quality that fell apart in low light. VIOFO chose to fix the problems everyone else had quietly accepted.

Three things changed the game:

• Discreet by design. VIOFO moved away from intrusive suction-cup mounts and engineered slim, low-profile cameras that tuck behind the rear-view mirror and blend into the cabin.
• Supercapacitors, not batteries. VIOFO led the industry's switch to supercapacitor power, eliminating the swelling, leakage and heat-related failures that plagued earlier generations — especially in hot climates and parked vehicles.
• Image quality that holds up. Successive generations of Sony sensors and HDR processing mean VIOFO footage stays sharp, accurate and useable as evidence — at night, in rain, into low sun, and at motorway speeds.
