Dash cam buying guide · October 2026
The latest VIOFO line-up gives drivers several different ways to record a journey: the familiar front-and-rear A149 Pro Duo, the discreet T330 series, the multi-camera T340 series and the BP60 parking-mode battery pack. The right choice depends on what you need to see, not simply how many cameras a kit contains.
A149 Pro Duo: a straightforward front-and-rear option
For drivers who want a conventional dash cam arrangement, the A149 Pro Duo combines a 4K 30fps HDR front camera with a separate 1080p 30fps HDR rear camera. Its built-in 2-inch screen makes it possible to check the view and change settings without reaching for a phone. Wi-Fi 6 offers another way to review and download footage.

The front camera uses a Sony STARVIS 2 sensor. As with any dash cam, whether a number plate is readable depends on factors including lighting, distance and vehicle movement. The A149 Pro is worth considering if you value direct on-camera controls and don’t need a cabin or telephoto feed.
T330: discreet design, flexible camera configurations
The T330 series is aimed at drivers who prefer a more discreet, screen-free main camera. Depending on the configuration, it can cover the road ahead, traffic behind and the vehicle interior. The T330 2CH pairs a 4K front view with 2K rear recording, while the T330 3CH adds a wide-angle 2K fisheye interior view.

Which T330 should you look at?
T330 2CH: A practical front-and-rear system where a discreet installation is a priority. T330 3CH: Adds interior coverage, which may matter to private-hire drivers or anyone regularly carrying passengers. Other T330 configurations use telephoto or waterproof exterior modules where the vehicle or installation requires them.
T340: coverage inside the vehicle and beyond
The T340 family expands the options for multi-channel recording. The T340 3CH combines 4K forward recording with 2K infrared interior and 2K rear views. The T340 4CH adds a 2K front-facing telephoto camera.

What does a telephoto camera add?
A normal wide-angle dash cam shows the wider road scene. A telephoto lens captures a narrower, magnified perspective farther ahead. That can provide complementary context when reviewing an incident. It does not replace the wide-angle front camera, and neither lens guarantees readable registration plates in every condition.
The infrared cabin camera is useful for recording inside the vehicle in low light. For vans and vehicles without a suitable rear window, the wider T340 range also includes waterproof exterior rear-camera configurations.
BP60: parking mode without relying solely on the starter battery
Parking recording requires power after the ignition is switched off. A compatible hardwire kit can draw from the vehicle battery with voltage protection; a dedicated battery pack provides another approach. The BP60 stores 64Wh in a 5,000mAh LiFePO4 battery and powers a compatible dash cam while parked.

VIOFO publishes camera- and mode-specific estimates: for example, the BP60 listing gives approximately 9 hours 13 minutes for the T330 3CH using low-bitrate parking recording, and 8 hours 35 minutes for the T340 4CH in the same mode. Other recording modes can last longer. These are estimates, not guarantees, and actual runtime varies with camera settings and conditions.

Before choosing: installation, storage and parking
- Camera placement: Check for an unobstructed view, especially for rear and interior cameras.
- Cabling: More channels usually mean more wiring. Exterior cameras have different installation needs.
- Storage: Multi-channel high-resolution recording uses more card space; choose a compatible high-endurance card.
- Parking: Choose the hardwire or battery solution compatible with your specific model and desired recording mode.
Frequently asked questions
Is the T340 always better than the T330?
No. The T340 offers different camera arrangements, including integrated infrared cabin and telephoto options. The T330 can be a better fit for discreet front-and-rear or fisheye cabin recording.
Should I choose two, three or four channels?
Start with what you need to record. Front-and-rear coverage suits many private drivers. Add cabin recording if interior events matter; add telephoto when a second forward perspective is valuable.
Does the BP60 mean parking mode will run all day?
Not necessarily. Runtime depends on camera count, settings, mode, temperature and battery charge. The BP60 product page provides model-specific estimates.
Does Wi-Fi mean I can view the camera remotely?
No. The camera’s Wi-Fi connection is intended for nearby phone access to footage and settings, not built-in mobile-data fleet monitoring.
