A229 Ultra 3CH records 4K at 30fps from both road-facing cameras. A separate 1080p infrared fisheye camera covers the cabin and side windows. The rear module mounts inside the rear windscreen.

Both road cameras use 1/1.8-inch 8MP Sony STARVIS 2 IMX678 sensors and record 3840 × 2160 at 30fps. The rear does not drop to 2K. The cabin adds an IMX662 2MP infrared view at 1920 × 1080 and 30fps.

F1.8 lens, 140° view and HDR at 30fps.
standard in-car camera; F1.8 / 140° lens and HDR at 30fps.
F2.2 lens, four IR LEDs and a 210° fisheye view of passengers and side windows.
Using the same 8MP sensor front and rear gives both road views the same 4K pixel count. HDR is available on all three channels.
The IMX678 sensor is designed for wider dynamic range and lower image noise. More recorded detail can help when reviewing a distant vehicle, though readable plates always depend on light, speed and distance.

A short, silent clip from the earlier UK page shows the road-facing image rather than relying on a static specification. The front camera uses a 140° F1.8 lens.

Multiple exposures help retain information around headlights, tunnels and deep shadow.
The STARVIS 2 sensors and rear lens work with limited light; available light and vehicle speed still affect the result.
The standard rear camera mounts inside the rear windscreen. It records 4K at 30fps from a second IMX678 sensor; it is not rated for exterior installation.
Mount inside the rear glass with a clear view; demisters, tint and trim can affect placement.
The published kit includes a 6m rear cable. Plan the route through trim before fitting the camera.
The 2MP Sony STARVIS 2 IMX662 records 1080p at 30fps. Four infrared LEDs help capture the interior in low light, while the wide field of view includes passengers and side windows.

A fisheye perspective covers more of the interior than a narrow conventional cabin lens.
Interior illumination supports recording after dark without depending on the vehicle’s cabin lights.
The 2.4-inch LCD handles on-camera checks. Dual-band Wi‑Fi connects to the VIOFO App, while a compatible USB-C data cable can move a larger recording directly to a phone.
Use live view, playback and settings over Wi‑Fi. The 5GHz band is the faster wireless option for large dual-4K files; 2.4GHz remains available for compatibility.
A compatible USB 2.0 Type-C to Type-C data cable allows phone transfers and firmware updates. The phone must support USB 2.0 data and supply 5V / 2A. Manufacturer testing quotes up to 20MB/s on a compatible iPhone; actual speed varies.
GPS, BeiDou, Galileo and GLONASS add speed, location and time information. Download the video before viewing the GPS map in the app.
Spoken commands cover recording, photos and Wi‑Fi; status messages can flag a card error or a settings change.
A compatible HK4 or HK6 hardwire kit or suitable battery-pack supply is required and sold separately. The hardwire kit can protect the vehicle battery with a low-voltage cut-off.
The original UK page’s silent parking demonstration shows the difference motion can make when explaining this mode. Continuous parking power remains necessary.
Loop recording overwrites routine files as the card fills. The adjustable G-sensor protects footage around a collision; the included front CPL-200 can reduce windscreen reflections.
Ordinary recordings are written in short loops. When the G-sensor detects an impact, the relevant file can be locked rather than handled as an ordinary loop clip.

The front CPL-200 is included in the published package. An optional CPL-600 can be fitted to the standard rear camera.
A published package includes the front GPS mount, rear camera, in-car charger and front CPL-200. Check the selected UK bundle for the exact waterproof rear cable length where applicable.

Each camera has a distinct role. The rear lens and weather rating differ between the standard and waterproof versions.
The hardwire kit, Bluetooth remote and high-endurance microSD card are optional accessories.
Check the rear mounting position, cable route and parking-power needs before buying.
