I bought this dash cam to upgrade to a higher resolution camera with an additional rear camera. I have found the most useful feature to be the WiFi phone connection, making watching back videos and changing camera settings easy through the Viofo app.
I connected my phone to the camera using the app to help me initially position it using the live view, for both cameras. With the included GPS module, it can also log your position & speed and plays it back in the app with the video (see picture). You can also download individual videos to your phone.
There is also the option for parking mode, where the camera can record before and after the g-sensor is triggered, using the Viofo HK3 hardwire adaptor (not included). Parking my car on the street each night, I will shortly be fitting this as an extra insurance policy!
I am impressed with the video quality in both daylight and at night time. The picture is smooth and you can clearly see details like number plates in 4K, 2K or Full HD resolutions. I prefer setting the Wide Dynamic Range to improve exposure further in light & dark scenes, such as driving into the rising sun.
Overall, it’s a top notch product that is well thought out.

Excellent camera and relatively easy to install (in a Mini). Fits snugly in front of rear view mirror without impeding drivers view. Pictures are very good but would suggest anti glare lens (optional) for night driving. One downfall, there’s no dedicated playback software. VIOFO recommend VLC media player. I use Dashcam Viewer which display all relevant information including GPS.
It’s not perfect but captures excellent footage. This is the third camera I have bought and is far the best (Nextbase & Blackvue were the others). It has all the features including Wi-Fi and parking mode.
Overall an excellent camera and worth its price for sheer quality, construction, ease of use and peace of mind.

I’ve not giving this product a full test run as yet. However, All the bits were in the box, (smaller than I expected.) Functions are comprehensive, so take your time going through it. Fitting no real problem. Best bit, phone and pc downloads. Not cheap but you pays your money and make your choice. Cheap is not always best, especially when you need a good witness.

I’ve been using the Viofo A129 for a year now, and its by far the best dash cam I used up to this point. Previous
The Viofo A129 Pro Duo is simply amazing, the quality of recorded video is beautiful and the bit-rate just right for 4K. If I were to be picky, it would be the file sizes which are around 2.1GB for 5-minute clip. With a 128GB SD Card I’m expecting roughly 130 – 140 minutes of footage before it begins to overwrite.
The camera itself is the same as the previous A129 which is incredible that Viofo managed to put so much technology into the camera and not make it overheat in the summer!
I can clearly see all the license plates of the cars passing by in 4K at 30MPH – no wash-out which is excellent. I will test on the motorway and post an update to this one. I have also checked the Dash Cam at 1440P @ 60fps and this produced very smooth footage, which might not be a bad idea to run at in the night to provide clearer and smoother video. Night time quality is also very good – its a bit harder to read license plates but they’re still readable in many situations. I only had a chance to test in classical British weather conditions to it was made even harder to read them and the camera did a very good job.
Overall, I’m very satisfied with this dash cam – was worth the wait.

Having owned the A129 duo and realising what a great dash-cam it is, once the A129pro 4k duo came out i had to have it, it didn’t disappoint. Images are crystal clear as the front records in true 4k, rear is 1080p (which is excellent). the app is the excellent, you can download clips straight to your phone via the app and the cameras built in wifi (2G or 5G)., which by the way is an fantastic app. the hardwired kit can be purchaser separate (i already had one fitted ) is a great option to if you want, as the parking mode when hardwired is worth the cam money alone.
all in all if you are looking for a true 4K dual channel dashcam then this is the cam to buy. 10/10

Viofo A129 Pro: Great dash cam. Daytime video quality is great for me as all I wanted was clear video and to be able to pick out license plates. The camera is small, discreet and easy to slip on and off it’s mount. I wired it up to the usb-c port by the rear view mirror which is a tidy setup with hardly any visible cabling. I can’t use parking mode when plugged in via usb-c port as it’s only powered when the car is running, so something to be aware of. I also purchased the CPL filter to reduce glare, worth getting in my opinion. Reviewing the videos is simple, I’ve plugged it in to my laptop but also directly into the TV via USB. Playback loading could be quicker, however its not something I do often so not an issue for me. All in all, a neat dash cam very which is very well positioned with regards to its pricing.

Having seen various videos from these cameras I thought that I’d take the plunge and buy a set, front and rear. A pleasure to install and most intuitive to set up, I only read the manual afterwards! Being able to view live on my phone was a great help in setting up the rear camera. Although if you haven’t had experience of installing such things before I’d advice paying someone to fit this in a Range Rover???? the rear camera mounting location is challenging!
