The CPL-500 polarising filter is shaped for RTC300 telephoto camera and original A329 applications that specify CPL-500. A329S / A329T series use CPL-600. It reduces reflections from glass and dashboard surfaces and also provides a physical layer over the camera lens.

The CPL-500 is shaped for its specific VIOFO camera family and reduces reflected light from glass, road surfaces and the vehicle interior while retaining useful natural light.
Windscreen and dashboard reflections can obscure detail and flatten contrast. The polarising filter suppresses much of that reflected light, helping footage retain clearer road detail and more natural colour in bright conditions.
The housing is designed to align correctly with the intended lens. It also provides a physical layer over the camera lens, helping protect against fingerprints, dust, dirt and minor scratches.

It reduces reflected light from the windscreen and dashboard, which can improve usable contrast in bright conditions. As with any polariser, it also reduces some incoming light.
No. The filter housings differ by camera and secondary-camera design. Match the CPL number to the supported camera.
It can remain fitted, but a polarising filter reduces some light. If maximum low-light sensitivity is the priority, compare footage with and without it.
