Turn an A229 Ultra 1CH into true 4K front + 4K rear.

RNE800 uses the same class of Sony STARVIS 2 IMX678 8MP sensor as the A229 Ultra front camera, recording true 3840×2160 HDR footage from inside the rear windscreen.

Four times the pixel count of 1080P gives the rear channel substantially more resolving power for vehicles, road signs and number plates behind the car.

Mount inside the rear glass and connect with the 6m cable.

RNE800 is intended for conventional interior rear-window mounting. The supplied static sticker and adhesive pad secure the camera while the cable routes forward to the A229 Ultra front unit.

Can this camera work on its own?

No. This is a secondary camera module designed to connect to the compatible VIOFO main dash cam.

Can I use it with a different VIOFO model if the plug looks the same?

Do not assume so. Secondary-camera protocols and cabling differ between product families. Match the exact compatibility stated on this page.

Is this camera waterproof?

Only models explicitly described as IP67 waterproof are intended for external mounting. Interior/rear-window and cabin modules should remain inside the vehicle.
