The A119 Mini 2 is a compact front-only dash cam built around Sony STARVIS 2 imaging. Record 2K at 60fps when motion detail matters, or switch to 2K 30fps HDR when the scene needs more help balancing bright highlights and dark areas.
Fast 2K recording, STARVIS 2, HDR, dual-band Wi-Fi, GPS, voice control and buffered parking mode all sit inside a small single-channel body designed to stay unobtrusive on the windscreen.
At 2560×1440, the Mini 2 can record at 60fps for smoother fast-moving footage. Switch to 2K 30fps with HDR when strong contrast, headlights and darker road scenes are the bigger challenge.
2K 60fps records twice as many frames per second as 30fps. That gives fast-moving objects more temporal detail in playback and can reduce the amount of motion blur around passing vehicles and roadside information.
Use 2K 60fps when smoother movement and fast-road detail are the priority.
Use 2K 30fps HDR when the scene contains more difficult combinations of bright and dark areas.
The 1/2.8-inch 5MP IMX675 sensor is paired with an F1.6, 140° lens and HDR support. The goal is not simply higher resolution — it is to keep more useful detail when light and motion become difficult.
Sony STARVIS 2 improves low-light sensitivity and dynamic range compared with earlier sensor generations. The Mini 2 uses that sensor performance alongside a relatively wide F1.6 aperture and a 7-element glass lens.
HDR combines exposures to retain more usable information across high-contrast scenes. It is available when recording at 2K 30fps, making it the mode to choose when exposure range matters more than the extra motion sampling of 60fps.
The A119 Mini 2 is a single-channel camera. There is no rear-camera expansion port, which helps keep the installation compact and makes it a straightforward choice when front-only recording is exactly what you want.
The camera still has its own 1.5-inch display and physical controls, while the VIOFO App adds live view, settings, playback and downloads over dual-band Wi-Fi.
Dual-band Wi-Fi gives you a choice of 2.4GHz or 5GHz connection. The faster 5GHz band is particularly useful for previewing, downloading and sharing footage through the VIOFO App.

Voice control supports commands such as starting recording, taking a photo and switching Wi-Fi on or off. Spoken notifications can also flag setting changes and memory-card errors.
The integrated GPS logger records journey data with the video. To view a GPS map in the VIOFO App or VIOFO PC Player, download the recording first and then play the local file.
Parking mode needs a compatible hardwire kit or dash-cam battery pack for power while the ignition is off. The camera then gives you three different recording behaviours.
Use an HK4 hardwire kit for automatic switching between driving and parking recording, or a compatible VIOFO battery pack when you want parking power isolated from the vehicle battery.
When moving objects are detected, buffered parking recording can preserve footage from 15 seconds before the trigger and continue for 30 seconds afterwards. That gives the saved event more context than a clip that begins only once motion has already happened.
Time-Lapse reduces the frame rate to 1, 2, 3, 5 or 10fps and records without audio, reducing both storage and power use. Low Bitrate keeps continuous video and audio, but compresses the files more heavily.
Loop recording manages the card in the background, while the G-sensor can lock footage when it detects an impact so that the file is not overwritten by the normal recording cycle.
Choose 1, 2, 3, 5 or 10-minute loop files. As the card fills, the oldest normal recordings are replaced automatically. The adjustable G-sensor can lock the current footage following a detected impact.
The Mini 2 supports microSD cards up to 512GB. Use a high-endurance card intended for continuous dash-cam recording; ordinary low-endurance cards are much more likely to develop write errors under repeated recording cycles.
Uses a supercapacitor rather than an internal lithium battery for in-car reliability across the published -20°C to 65°C operating range.
The high-resolution LCD gives you direct access to status, playback and settings without needing the app for every change.
Audio recording, spoken notifications and on-camera playback are built into the compact body.
The supplied car charger powers the camera over USB Type-C; the published input requirement is DC 5V / 1A.
CPL filtering, Bluetooth control and hardwired parking power are optional rather than hidden requirements for normal driving recording.
The CPL filter cuts glare and reflections from glass and road surfaces before they are recorded, improving contrast when reflections would otherwise sit over the footage.
The centre button instantly protects the current video clip and image. Two side buttons can be assigned shortcut functions, with a quoted control range of up to 5 metres.
